May

Saturday and Sunday May 29-30th 2010 The South Dakota Kayak Challenge is the first marathon-endurance paddling race in the state. Racers will face 75 miles on the Missouri National Recreational River, starting in history-rich Yankton, S.D., and ending in less than 36 hours in Sioux City, Iowa. The SDKC portion of the Missouri National Recreational River varies greatly, from narrow channels between islands to areas where the river is more than a quarter-mile wide. Views from Google Earth or even Google Maps can give you an accurate view of the area. As a first time event aimed at a wide range of paddlers, the SDKC timeframe is 36 hours for all participants. As registrations come in, we hope to develop a series of cut-off times for racing veterans and offer cash prize incentives.

Started in 2003 with one truck and two demo ladies, the Bike Demo Tour provides women of all abilities an opportunity to test ride a Trek WSD bike and experience the WSD difference first hand. You'll also try the latest women's products from Gary Fisher and Bontrager. And, our technical reps reach out to educate female riders on product and proper bicycle fit. Join us at our next Trek Women Bike Demo at Ace Bike and Fitness on Saturday July, 17th 2010. The event will kick off at 6 p.m and go til 9:15. There will be a 14 mile ride and a group question and answer session about how to get your bike fit and comfortable for you. This is a laddies only event so no boys alowed. (Other than a few of the shop guys). Please encourage friends and relatives to come. It will be a great time!

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about the event.

QUESTION: Can I get help with a fit on my bike at the demo?
ANSWER: The demo team can certainly assist with a fit at the demo, but due to time constraints at demos we also recommend spending time with your local dealer for a fit.

QUESTION: What do I need to do to demo a bike?
ANSWER: Check out our calendar of upcoming events and select one to attend. Allow yourself plenty of time to check out our inventory and give us some time to fit you on the selected model you would like to try. You will need to fill out a quick registration/waiver form and provide us with a valid ID (driver's license) and Credit Card. (Of course your credit card will not be charged, unless of course you disappear or damage the product.)

QUESTION: What if I am under 18, can I still demo a bike?
ANSWER: Yes! But you will need a parent to fill out your registration/waiver form

QUESTION: Do I need to bring my own helmet?
ANSWER: We do have a limited number of helmets available for use, but is best to bring your own personal riding gear if possible.

QUESTION: Can I ride more than one bike ?
ANSWER: Sure, as many as you want! We would love you to try all of our inventory and we will do our best to get you on whatever you want to ride. We appreciate your patience, sometimes we get busy.
